If anyone is interested in this sort of anime, I'd highly recommend Initial D. The art style can be strange at times, but otherwise it is a very well-produced show.

Japanese input- Initial D
This week, I decided to start watching Initial D. For any who don't know, Initial D is an anime about mountain pass racing. Essentially, people modify their cars with better engines, suspension, transmissions, tires, etc. and then race them up and down Japan's numerous mountain passes. Techniques such as drifting are very popular in this style of racing. I learned a lot about the culture surrounding these races, in addition to being able to identify some words and phrases within the show itself.
